Direct Impact announced today the addition of Alissa Hinkson and Michael Fleischer as vice presidents.
Hinkson joins DI from Rational 360, a Washington, D.C.-based communications and public affairs firm, where she served as vice president and campaign lead for clients including Peter G. Peterson Foundation, Pfizer and the Personal Care Products Council, among many others. She brings to DI extensive experience in strategic branding, media relations, message development, product positioning and crisis management in addition to grassroots program development and execution.
Fleischer comes to Direct Impact from Lighthouse Consulting Group, LLC, a government affairs and management consulting firm with distinct expertise in the fields of energy and the environment. Here Fleischer served as vice president, specializing in the design and implementation of lobbying and advocacy campaigns at the federal and state level for clients including AES Corp., Alliance Pipeline and the Environmental Defense Fund, among others. He brings more than 15 years of experience in legislative and regulatory communications to DI, specifically in energy, environment, transportation and financial services.
“Alissa and Michael will be tremendous assets to DI, providing dedicated management for some of our most integral accounts while also bringing fresh perspective to our grassroots team,” said Nicole Cornish, CEO of Direct Impact. “We are thrilled to head into 2012 with strong new faces as part of our leadership.”
A former senior aide at Frank Luntz’s message research firm, Maslansky Strategic Research, Hinkson worked with Disney to develop its corporate responsibility platform, targeted a philanthropic focus for Proctor & Gamble, developed language and training for customer outreach at Citigroup and UBS, and identified corporate partnership strategies for the United Nations Foundation, the Nike Foundation and for Conservation International. Previously, Hinkson edited fiction and non-fiction trade books for HarperCollins Imprint.
Prior to his work at Lighthouse, Fleischer served as principal staffer to a number of corporate and non-profit clients including JP Morgan Chase Card Services, Consumers United for Rail Equity (CURE) and the Committee for Economic Development (CED). He also worked on the political desk at the Washington Post.
